What to see in Seville in two days

Daniel 21/01/2023
Seville is one of the most beautiful and culturally rich cities in southern Spain. With its impressive architecture, historical monuments and streets full of life, it is the perfect destination to spend a weekend. In this post we leave you with some of the essential places that you must see during your 2-day visit to Seville.
What to see in Seville: a monumental city

Seville Cathedral is the third largest in the world and houses the tomb of the famous explorer Christopher Columbus. Walking through its naves is getting lost in a thousand details and secrets that its chapels and stained glass windows hide. Also, going up to the Giralda (the bell tower that was an old Arab minaret), you can enjoy panoramic views of the city.
Without leaving aside the monumental part and a few meters from the Cathedral of Seville is the Alcázar of Seville. It is an impressive 14th century fortified palace that is a perfect example of Mudejar architecture. Inside, in addition to its halls, it houses some of the most beautiful patios in the city. Did you know that these patios were the scene of the kingdom of Dorne from the famous series "Game of Thrones"?
Around the Plaza del Triunfo is also the Archivo de Indias. This impressive building houses thousands of documents and maps from the Golden Age and is an essential place for history lovers.
Another essential stop is the Plaza de España. This impressive square is one of the most emblematic points of the city and is the perfect place to admire the regionalist architecture of Aníbal González. Also, if once you are there it sounds familiar to you, it is not surprising, since it appeared in the Star Wars saga, “Attack of the Clones Episode II”. For several days the Andalusian city became Naboo, one of the planets in the Obi-Wan Kenobi universe
Get lost in its streets

Right next to the Plaza de España is the Parque de Maria Luisa. This beautiful park is the perfect place to take a walk and have a relaxing moment during our visit to the city. In addition, it houses some of the most emblematic buildings of the Ibero-American Exhibition of 1929.
Continuing with our tour we can admire the Torre del Oro. This impressive 13th century tower is one of the most recognized symbols of the city together with La Giralda and offers a panoramic view of Triana and the Guadalquivir river.
But if we are talking about what to see in Seville, we cannot ignore a visit to the Barrio de Santa Cruz. This old Jewish quarter is one of the most beautiful in the city and is perfect for strolling through its narrow streets and enjoying a relaxed afternoon.
Walking through the streets of Seville you will also find unique facades such as the Palacio de San Telmo or the Real Fábrica de Tabacos, current headquarters of the University of Seville.
On the other hand, if you are looking for that more urban side of Seville, you should not miss Metropol Parasol or what is the same, Las Setas de Sevilla. This innovative wooden building, a few meters from our hotel, is the most modern element of the city and offers a unique panoramic view of the city.
In conclusion, during your 2 days in Seville, you cannot miss the picturesque neighborhood of Santa Cruz, the imposing Plaza de España, a relaxing walk through the María Luisa Park, the fascinating tour through the streets of Triana and if you have time, Go up to the Metropol Parasol. A tight schedule to see Seville in two days. Enjoy your visit to this city full of history and culture! We are waiting for you at Hotel Cervantes.
